Who we are

Log ("the app") is an iOS application that lets you keep a private journal about the people you date. This policy explains how the app handles your information. It applies to the Log app and this website.

What we collect

Nothing. Log has no account system, no login, no analytics and no third-party tracking SDKs. We do not operate a server that receives your content, and we have no technical ability to read anything you write in the app.

What you store, and where

Everything you enter in Log — names, ages, ratings, flags, notes, stories, dates and photos — is written to the app's private storage on your own device. Specifically:

• Text and structured data are stored in the app's local database.
• Photos you add are copied into the app's private documents folder. They are not added to your camera roll and are not shared with anyone.
• This data is protected by iOS app sandboxing, and the app is additionally locked with Face ID or Touch ID.

This data may be included in your device's own backups (for example iCloud Backup or an encrypted Finder backup), which are controlled by you and by Apple under Apple's privacy terms — not by us.

The one network request

As you type a city into a log — and again when you save it — the app asks the OpenStreetMap Nominatim service for that city's coordinates so it can place a pin on your map. The request contains what you typed into that city field, and nothing else. It does not contain your name, the person's name, ratings, notes, photos, or any identifier that could be linked to you. The request is delayed until you pause typing, and the result is cached on your device so the same city is never looked up twice. If the request fails, or you are offline, the app continues to work — you can still type a city freely, only the map pin is missing.

OpenStreetMap operates that service under its own privacy policy.

Photo library access

If you choose to add photos, iOS shows its own photo picker. The app only receives the specific images you select. Log never browses, reads or uploads your photo library.

Face ID and Touch ID

Log asks iOS to verify your identity so it can unlock. The biometric check happens entirely inside iOS — the app receives only a yes-or-no answer, and never has access to your face or fingerprint data.

Purchases

Log Pro is a one-time in-app purchase processed by Apple. We never see your payment details. Apple tells the app whether the purchase is active; that is the only information exchanged.

Children

Log is rated 17+ and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to export, correct or delete on your behalf. You are in complete control: deleting a log removes it from your device, and deleting the app removes everything it stored. Both actions are permanent and cannot be undone by us.

This website

This site is a static page. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics. It loads a web font from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google's servers to fetch the font file; Google may log the request as described in their privacy policy. No other third parties are involved.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date. If a future version of the app ever collects data — which is not planned — we will say so here clearly and in the app before it happens.
